My Story
In my mid-thirties, I found myself feeling increasingly disconnected from others and unsure of how to establish new connections. I quickly realized that I had no idea how to make friends as an adult. I turned to the internet, typing and rewording a search question. While I found some clubs or individual workshops, they weren’t what I was looking for. I signed up for some classes anyway, in the hopes that it would be better than I assumed. It was fun, but I noticed that the other people there were couples or groups of already established friends.
After attending several classes and workshops, I noticed a consistent pattern: friend groups and couples attending together, rather than individuals. It was then that I decided to create what I couldn't find. The result? Social Circle Events!
I’m now working to manage online space for people to create profiles, search for activities in their area, and RSVP to member-only events. The goal of a member-only event is to provide a space where individuals can come alone but leave with a new connection. The events are customized to facilitate conversations, pair people with similar interests, and incorporate member feedback to create events specific to more niche interests.
Social Circle Events can connect people, foster new friendships, and enable us all to create lasting memories.
